clay bar to go over the affected area a couple times first to see if that will clean it up. All the polish is going to do is polish the mess. You need to get it off the paint first. The clay bar should get the residue off, then you might get some scratch remover to fix the scratched part. Once the surface is clean, you can then procede to polish and wax it.
